Jazz-rock icons Colosseum and related bands still tour Europe and even Japan (above) but only rarely play in the UK. The most recent appearance inthe UK by Colosseum that I can find was more five years ago. Jazz Cafe, 2004. (Any advance on that?!).
The band (Jon Hiseman, Barbara Thompson, Clem Clempson, Chris Farlowe, Mark Clarke and Dave Greenslade) is currently on a 19-date tour of Germany, Switzerland, Austria and Hungary. The 26-day tour ends up in Budapest on Sunday November 14th. The whole schedule sounds punishing, especially for Parkinson's Disease sufferer Barbara Thompson.
Another venture which fans need to be aware of is a biography of Jon Hiseman by Martyn Hanson, published on October 20th by Jon Hiseman's company Temple Music. It's 464 pages long, it has a copious discography, loads of illustrations, stories of life onthe road with among others Chris Welch, Georgie Fame, Colosseum, Paraphernalia..... We'll be carrying a review...........
