Horny Dizis

I've acquired some beautiful looking dizis made from the horns of some animal, which I am quite sure died from natural causes before putting their horns to musical use.

The thing about dizis made from horn is that the horns need to be of a certain thickness before they can be fashioned into dizis. So they are considered rather rare. The dizi is made by joining a few pieces of horn together.

The first type is one made from black buffalo horn. These are more readily available because there are more of them around.


The second type is made from flower ox horn, which is rarely available. They look absolutely gorgeous.


Currently I have a set of 5 (C, D, E, F and G) already reserved by someone.


These type of dizi might not sound as good as those made from bamboo but they are still very much playable. The dizis are made by Xie Bin from Hangzhou.

The Grand Opening of a new night created by The Lee Wilson Movement @ Milky Way Lounge.

House party is a chill night complete with drinks, food, a Dj playing the best in 90's Hip Hop, R&B, Reggae, and Freestyle, also a live performance from Lee Wilson and his Movement Band.

Doors open at 9pm and event ends at 12am FREE entrance and FREE parking all night.

MJB Live @ Radio City Music Hall Clip

I was fortunate enough to go see the Queen MJB this past Monday in NYC at Radio City Music Hall. The live performance below of "Take Me As I Am" is one of my favorite parts of the night. The sound isn't the best its from the audience, but you get the point.

I was on my twitter checking out some of my Follwers and came across Loisaidas una palabra used by Latins in NY to descibe The Lower East Side aka LES. Les is also where the story of the musical/movie Rent took place. I was actually in the LES yesterday for lunch.
